School Supplies You Didn’t Know You Needed

It’s almost time to head back to school. This break has been wonderful, but now it’s time to start looking at school supplies and what you need to ensure a successful school year.

Check out these 3 supplies for helping to ensure a successful school year, no matter how old your kids are! I never would have thought of these!

While your child’s school will provide a list of school supplies that they require you to purchase, there are also several back to school items that you will never see on any school-provided supply list.

Yet they are crucial to your family’s success at school this year.

Don’t get stuck half-way through the year trying to figure out where everything went wrong and attempting to survive this year with the hope that next year will be better.

Take the time right now to ensure that you and your family have an amazing school year!

School Supplies You Didn’t Know You Needed

While your school has taken care of the pencils and paper reminders, here are the things you need at home to ensure success this school year.

1: A Strong Food Supply

Ok, I know what you’re thinking… “Duh, really? I need food? I know!”

Yes, you are aware that you need to feed your family every day, several times a day. But do you have a plan for how to survive those first few crazy weeks of long days, grumpy kids, and hectic evenings?

A freezer full of food will go a long way towards making sure that your family is well fed (no fast food) and you don’t have to stand in front of a hot oven every night to give it to them!

At the very least we try to have a few homemade pizzas in the freezer for a quick meal.

2: A Traveling Pep-Talk

No matter how many times you’ve done the back to school thing, there are nerves involved for everyone in the family.

Some are excited, some are nervous, others may be scared.

Besides a constant stream of affirmations is there anything that can be done? What about when you’re not there and they are at school in a new place?

Grab these essential oils for the best support your family can have, emotionally and physically. Perfect for mom, dad, and all the littles too.

Seriously, these are basically little pep-talks in a bottle. A must have for back to school success!

3: A Game Plan that Covers EVERYTHING

Just like filling your freezer with food to protect against the craziness of back to school, a game plan for the school year will help you be successful.

What do you mean by “A Game Plan”?

I mean, do you know how you will handle all the piles of paperwork? Will you help your child with homework, or let them rely on what they learned at school?

What will you do if you get “that teacher”… you know the one I mean? Should you join the PTA? How often should you volunteer?

The list goes on… the variables and “what if” questions of having one or more children in school are unending!

But what if you had an experienced mom who had done the whole thing to tell you what to expect when you take that little darling to the classroom door for the first time…

What if she could tell you what was coming next year, or in 5 years? Wouldn’t you want to hear what she has to say?

A Game Plan isn’t just for parents sending their precious darlings off to school for the first time… it’s for EVERY PARENT.

Even if you are a veteran Elementary School mom, do you know what to expect in Middle School? Maybe you’ve mastered the art of the Middle School schedule but what about High School? College? Don’t try to figure it all out alone. Make A Game Plan with a pro!

I personally have a copy of this book and I'm so glad I do. It's one that could be referenced often as you go through all the different stages of your child's school career!

[…] I was homeschooled, but I know that’s not for everyone, so that’s not what I’m talking about here. Taking control of your child’s education can be done no matter where they go to school. […]
