This simple counted cross stitch pattern features a Christmas deer wearing a red and green floral crown. It can be used on its own, or turned into a gorgeous Christmas ornament!
I love making DIY Christmas gifts! Whether it's a hand-knitted sweater, or a fast and easy gift that only takes a few minutes.
This year I wanted a handmade Christmas gift option that I could make in just a few hours but that would still provide a lot of "WOW" factor when it was opened!
I ended up deciding to make cross stitch Christmas ornament pattern that could be stitched with the year it was given.
Deer Christmas Cross Stitch Pattern
This simple Christmas cross stitch pattern can be completed in just a few hours, and is finished with a red felt background and a red and gold ribbon hanger.
Since the pattern only requires 3 colors, you can create this amazing DIY Christmas ornament for just a few dollars!
I bought 1 piece of evenweave fabric, 1 skein of each thread color, and was able to make 16 of these gorgeous Christmas ornaments! I also purchased 4" wooden hoops for each ornament.
After everything was said and done, these Handmade Christmas Cross Stitch Ornaments only cost me $3.11 each!!

Hi Victoria! Are you able to make this fit a 3″ cross stitch hoop? I would love to purchase it if you can downsize it! Thank you!
Victoria says
Hi Michelle! While I wouldn’t be able to resize the file for you, if you make the pattern on 32 or 36 count evenweave (or higher), then the finished product would fit in a 3″ hoop. It’s only 3 1/2″ as it is, so that would make it small enough to fit in a smaller hoop!
I hope that helps!

Can you tell me if you are selling the completed ornament or the supplies to do it myself.

Hi LuAnn, currently it is only the pattern that is for sale. Thanks for checking!
