Hi y'all! My name is Victoria and I'm a born and raised 10th generation Texan raising the next generation in Central Texas with my husband of 12 years and our 3 year old son.
Here's a little bit more about our family...
We live on about $30,000 a year, by choice, so that we can spend our time together instead of working to pay for things we don't care about. We're able to pull this off by living an extremely frugal life... but luckily, building a money-saving system, and stretching every dollar is SUPER fun for me. Yeah, I know... I'm a little odd ;-)
I have a long list of skills I like to dabble in from time to time that vary from canning food, to weaving my own cloth, and of course knitting!
But mainly, I love keeping my home and pantry to the standard that my grandmother did before me; Homemade and Real.
In 2015 (after 10 years of marriage, what a long wait!) we welcomed our little boy into the family and made the decision that I would leave my job as a kindergarten teacher to stay home with him. As amazing as that was, it only lasted a short time... In January of 2016 my husband lost his job and our sole source of income disappeared overnight. It was terrifying at first, as I was afraid that I would lose the opportunity to stay home with our son. But it has turned into the biggest blessing we could ever imagine!
Because we were able to work hard, save money, and live frugally, we had the chance to completely change our lives! Today we both work from home and are blessed to be bringing in more money for our family than we made together both working for other people!
Now through my blog, I get to help others learn more about how to live a frugal and simple lifestyle, while making money online so they can pursue the lives they've always dreamed of!
Here on the site you'll find From Scratch Recipes for the most delicious food you'll find from a Southern kitchen, Frugal Living tips that are easy to follow even if you aren't a spreadsheet junkie like me, and Homesteading Skills that you can pursue from where ever you live (even in a high-rise, city apartment!). Welcome and enjoy!
