Seems like everyone is having babies. Seriously.
I can't log on to Facebook without seeing at least two new pregnancy announcements. It's not a bad thing, it's just a fact.
And it does give me the opportunity to make an adorable little teeny-tiny gift to take to a baby shower... which is always fun!
Handmade gifts are great for any occasion. While the do tend to take more time than just going to the store and buying something, you save a lot of money. And it's always much more special for the recipient.
*Thrifty trick: If you save the money and spend the time to make something, you don't have to spend time working more hours (away from your home and family) to pay for a store bought gift. Change your mindset and challenge yourself to live differently.
Here are some handmade baby gift ideas that I have used many times myself...
I generally make a baby blanket for all the new babies, this one in fact (the color varies by room decor!).
But sometimes I branch out and make custom onesies like these...
You can see more Gift Onesie ideas on my Pinterest Board here.
Another great gift idea, depending on the season, is a soft and cozy sweater like this one. The pattern for this "Yoda Sweater" can be found here.
Or you could make this amazingly quick and easy sweater, complete with the baby's initial. Read my"How To" for this sweater here.
Bottom line, any which way you go, a handmade gift is the perfect way to welcome someone new into your life.
