14 Christmas Gifts for Kids – Easy Gift Ideas for Kids
These easy DIY Christmas gifts for kids are perfect for any child on your list! All you need are a few simple supplies, like yarn, paint, and scrap fabric!
1. Make Believe Ears
This one is amazing! Imagination play is SO important for kids, and these sweet little ears would go a long way!
You could pair a few of these with a book or two for the perfect kids gift!
- Pig ears with The 3 Little Pigs.
- Wolf ears with Little Red Riding Hood.
- Bunny ears with Peter Rabbit.
2. Hand Warmers for Boys and Girls
I love both of these! Either would be totally acceptable and loved by boys and girls alike. Personally, I think I’d want the sweet little fox! Click on either picture to go to the pattern for each!
3. Tooth Fairy Pillow
This pillow could be customized in so many different ways. The post has a no-wing version as well. Just a really cute way to keep those teeth in place while little noggins dream of finding money in the morning!
4. Personalized Sweater
If you are the crafty type, you may know how to knit! If you do, then this sweater is for you! Just 1 skein of yarn (about $3-5) and 8 hours, you will have a gorgeous handmade sweater to gift your sweet child!
Not only is it soft and adorable, but it can double as a practical gift for the rest of the winter, too!
5. Ruffle Apron
Perfect for your sassy little kitchen helper! If you don’t already have an apron, they are easy to make (from a dish towel, no less!) with this tutorial! I would go ahead and sew the ribbon on, though :-)
6. Stick Horse
Admittedly, this one does require quite a bit in the way of materials. But take a look, you might actually have them all… I did!
7. Superhero Masks
One more time, for emphasis… SUPERHERO MASKS!! Cape optional.
Seriously, these are so adorable, and they don’t require that much fabric! You could even make a set for your favorite superhero :-)
8. Felt Monsters
I’m not going to lie, these felt monsters from It’s Always Autumn just about knocked my socks off!! I LOVE THEM!! Plus, the free pattern and the mix-and-match features are awesome!
9. Slime in a Mason Jar
No matter if the child in question is 3 or 15, every child I know LOVES slime! And these slimes even have free printable gift tags to make them even more special!
10. Wallets
Ok, I know that girls like wallets too, in theory. But boys REALLY LOVE THEM.
I don’t know what it is about a wallet, but starting way before you think it should happen, boys really enjoy carrying one.
After they open the gift, you could set up a date to go to the library and get them their very own library card! It will give them something to carry around, and IT’S FREE!
Thrifty Tip: This pattern calls for a tiny bit of leather to use as an accent. Most leather shops have a scrap bin that you can take from for free! Find a leather shop in your area and save big!
11. Pirate Treasure Map
Here we are again. Make believe! It’s important and this would help any child to find the adventures just waiting in their imaginations!
12. Reusable Snack Bags
These are great fun for mom too! Saving money while looking fabulous!
Bake some delicious chocolate chip cookies and fit them nicely inside the bags, then present your favorite kiddo with a set!
13. Fabric Bandaids
I have to admit, I was really wondering how this was going to work… but the tutorial is SUPER easy. These are adorable, I know SO MANY kids who would absolutely adore these!
14. Baby Blocks
And finally, something for that sweet little baby in your life. I may have shed a tear thinking about my own little guy. He’ll be 9 months at Christmas time!
Anyway, these are really simple, but would be well-loved by any little one!
