This recipe makes the equivalent of 1 box of Stove Top stuffing and can be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled with ease – depending on the size crowd you are trying to feed!

Homemade Einkorn Stove Top Stuffing

We are Stove Top ride or die people around here. Well, I should say, my dad, husband, and brother are all Stove Top ride or die people.

Even though we are a fully einkorn household and have been for almost 7 years… they still trot out the Stove Top every Thanksgiving.

It had been on my list for years to try as many variations as it took to come up with the perfect einkorn Stove Top stuffing recipe, but I just wasn’t able to find the time.

But this year, being at home 24/7, it finally happened!

I knew the moment I tasted it that this was the one. However, it needed the trifecta seal of approval.

With much anticipation, I brought the bowl of finished stuffing to my parents house (30 feet away from mine) and called my husband from the barn. Two forks in hand, I had both my dad and husband try this homemade stuffing recipe.

The first bite was a hit! They were both blown away by how totally accurate the taste was and gave it full approval!

Since my brother doesn’t live here, I’ll have to get his approval at Thanksgiving. But, with 2 out of 3 on board, I feel comfortable sharing this homemade Stove Top stuffing recipe!

NOTE: I made this homemade stuffing with homemade einkorn sandwich bread, but you can use any white bread you’d like!

Also, go ahead and take the time to really diced the bread finely. It may seem like a pain, but it really adds to the full copycat experience and can make a huge difference when trying to win over even the biggest box stuffing fan!

How Does it Compare to Store-Bought Stove Top Stuffing

I also made a version of this stuffing with cornbread instead of white bread – since we normally get the cornbread Stove Top. However, I was very surprised (as was everyone else) to find that the white bread version tasted identical to the box mix.

While the cornbread stuffing was AMAZING, it wasn’t an exact copy. So keep that in mind, even if you love the cornbread version!

The moisture levels, spices, and texture was spot on when using the no-knead einkorn sandwich bread recipe. But I would imagine that using any white bread, as long as you diced the bread well enough, would yield similar results!
