Both my kids' first food was avocado, and that's probably why we have guacamole on the menu often. I love this easy guacamole recipe, because it's so simple and the kids love it!

This simple guacamole recipe will only take a couple of minutes to make. Guacamole is the perfect after school snack or addition to meals. The fresh green color guacamole adds to a plate is absolutely stunning!
We devour guacamole. Our favorite ways to use it is in burritos, with tortilla chips, and dipping our vegetables in it. We also enjoy it with baked fish and a variety of chicken dishes, too.

STEP ONE
Place your avocados in a bowl and mash them up to the consistency you'd like with a fork. We like ours creamy and with few lumps. Kids love to help with this step!
STEP TWO
Add half of each ingredient in with the avocados and then taste it. Continue to add in more of each ingredient until you reach the taste you like. You may find that you don't need all of the spices!
But if you just want a classic guacamole recipe, then dump all the spices in and stir!
STEP THREE
Serve the guacamole right away or follow these steps for freezing the extra guacamole.

Easy Guacamole Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 medium avocados
- 1 tsp salt (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (or 1 tbsp fresh garlic, chopped)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (to taste)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Cut open your avocados and remove the seeds. Scoop the avocado with a spoon then mash the avocados with a fork.
- Add half of each ingredient to the mix and taste, continue adding until you reach the perfect level!
- Serve the guacamole right away or freeze it for later.
