I’m all about easy recipes when I can find them. That may seem odd coming from a girl who makes her own homemade Oreos, but it’s true!

More often that not around here, our meals our simple family favorites. Our go to chicken marinade is this easy one-ingredient marinade that comprises of a dumped  whole jar of spaghetti sauce over a bunch of frozen chicken breasts.

Yep, it’s that easy!

It’s also so delicious that we make an entire pan of chicken breast 3-5 times a month and eat them with various vegetables during the week.

Easy Chicken Marinade

Super. Easy. Chicken. Marinade.

We even enjoy it sliced on salads, wrapped up in tortillas, or as chicken sandwiches on fresh bread!

You may have noticed that I said FROZEN chicken breasts, again…yep!

Once I discovered that you can cook a frozen chicken I vowed to never thaw another piece of chicken! It totally works and it’s so moist and delicious.

I hope you try it if you haven’t before. Easy and fast!

STEP ONE

Place chicken breasts in a large oven safe pan, and pour an entire jar of spaghetti sauce over chicken.

STEP TWO

At this point you can either bake the chicken right away, or marinade it in the fridge overnight (or at least 4 hours).  I recommend taking the time to let your chicken marinade.  The chicken will be more flavorful and moist.

STEP THREE

When you’re ready to bake, cover pan with foil *shiny side down*.

STEP FOUR

Bake at 375° F for 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken is at least 165° F.

The cook time may vary depending on how thick the breasts are, and if you are cooking from frozen or not. In general, no matter what the chicken, it will be done within 75 minutes.

Total Time: 57 minutes minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce
  • 6 chicken breasts (fresh or frozen)

Instructions

  • Put the chicken breasts frozen or fresh in an oven safe pan and pour the jar of spaghetti sauce over the chicken.
  • Let the chicken marinade in the refrigerator at least 4 hours up to overnight if you so desire, or bake the chicken right away.
  • To bake the chicken, cover the pan with aluminum foil, shiny side down, and bake at 375° for 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken is at least 165°.

Notes

Cook time may vary depending on how thick the breasts are and if you are cooking from frozen or not. In general, no matter what the chicken, it will be done within 75 minutes.
Note: While there are 6 chicken breasts used, I argue that is 12 servings due to the size of most chicken breasts! Cut them in half and you are still getting a ton of food!
