The year that the last Harry Potter movie came out, our whole family had a marathon movie session to watch ALL the other movies before going to the midnight release.

For which, I made a house full of treats, Dobby hats and Weasley Sweaters for everyone, and each room of the main floor was decorated like a different place from the books.

We had Snape’s dungeon, Honeyduke’s Sweet Shop, The Three Broomsticks, Gryffindor Common Room, and Nick’s Death Day Party.

It was awesome… and long… but mostly awesome!

We had so much Harry Potter food that we were practically riding the Hogwarts Express to the movie that night!

Here are a few of our favorite Harry Potter candy and treat recipes from the main event!

Harry Potter Candy Recipes

If you’ve read the Harry Potter books, you know that food (and especially SUGAR) is a large part of the school and life experience for our young wizards.

Not surprising, what child void of parents wouldn’t gorge themselves on sugar and treats at every opportunity. Maybe Hermione wouldn’t, but she’s a special witch, isn’t she? :-)

Now, on to the recipes!!

Harry Potter Chocolate Frogs

When most people think of Harry Potter candy, this is the first thing that comes to mind: Chocolate Frogs!

A delicious recipe that can be made as a solid chocolate frog, or as a filled chocolate frog. We’d made these many different ways, and love them all!

Our favorite chocolate frogs are filled with homemade marshmallows and wrapped in these DIY chocolate frog boxes!

Harry Potter Jelly Slugs

A perfect, wiggly, jiggly snack for any Harry Potter party, these jelly slugs are easy to make and can be made in any flavor you’d like!

These are originally made with banoffee (which I’ll admit, this Texas gal had to look up), but you can make them with any flavor jelly you want!

I’d probably make them in apricot, blackberry, and strawberry. YUM!

The original post doesn’t have the links for the slugs she used, so here are the slug toys she used! Make them with the same method I used to make the homemade Oreo molds!

Harry Potter Cockroach Clusters

Speaking of creepy, crawly things… these cockroach clusters are DELICIOUS!

Don’t let the name turn you off, made with chocolate and pecans, they are going to quickly become one of your favorite Harry Potter candy recipe!

Harry Potter Treacle Fudge

Treacle was yet another thing I had to look up (it’s molasses), but once I had, this Harry Potter Treacle Fudge sounded amazing!

This recipe is originally from the Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook, which I own and love! You can grab your own copy for under $10!

Treacle turns into a delicious fudge recipe (if you’re willing to skip the chocolate kind, of course) and is a great addition to any Harry Potter Party!.

It almost looks like Butterbeer Fudge, doesn’t it? Such a beautiful golden color with a melt in your mouth texture!

Harry Potter Pumpkin Pasties

While not technically a “candy” this Harry Potter treat is another classic Wizarding World must have!

We make these all the time during the fall seasons, as soon as our pumpkins start coming in each year we start making pumpkin pasties!

I also make these in bulk with my great-grandmother’s pie crust recipe and freeze them for later. They freeze best right before baking, then you can throw them in the oven to bake straight from the freezer.

Top with whipped cream and serve with a hot beverage for a truly Harry Potter experience!
