Sometimes people with a homesteading mindset can be hard to shop for. Gadgets and trinkets are outside of their ideal gift range, which leaves you to come up with something they will actually use and enjoy!
Here are 39 Must Have Gifts for the Modern Homesteader!
And if you're the one with the homesteading mindset, I know from many years of experience that it can be difficult to give gift ideas to those who ask. Share this list with your friends and family so they know what to get you!
Must Haves for the Modern Homestead

Family Animals
If you have enough land to have chickens, goats, or cows, these are the books you need.
Tip: Check your HOA, if they allow birds "smaller than a macaw" then you can have chickens! I would avoid having a rooster though :-)

Cooking Tools
Cooking is a passion of mine. Making every meal from scratch for my family is such a blessing... but it's also a lot of hard work. Without these tools my job would be a lot harder!
A Good Mixer
There's no doubt that owning a mixer is a luxury of our age. A good mixer makes all the difference in a world where we need to save as much time on each task as possible!
Like this no-knead bread recipe! Possible thanks to my handy-dandy KitchenAid!
I'm only listing KitchenAid mixers here, because I honestly believe they are the best mixers. They last forever and have a ton of great attachments available to help around the homestead.

General Canning Supplies
Water bath canning and pressure canning have their own requirements, but they do have some cross-over. Here's what you need for both!
I would recommend sticking with Ball or Kerr canning jars. They are both made in the USA and are very dependable jars for year after year usage! Anything else is usually made in China and is not reliable as far as breakage and safety goes!

Holds the same number/type of jars that the All American does. However, it is not made in the USA.
Dehydrator
I'm only giving you links for Excalibur dehydrators, because to do anything else would be a pity in my opinion. They are hands down the best, they will properly dehydrate your food, and they will last a lifetime!
I personally own the 5-tray Excalibur, but often find myself wishing I had the 9-tray. If you have the means, I would recommend getting the bigger one right out of the gate.
