Easy Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe
So, you know I love helping people save money!!
Making your own condiments helps cut costs because you can buy the base ingredients for less and combine them for real savings! This recipe is so easy that you'll never buy pumpkin pie spice at the store again!
We make many things from scratch (99% of our food is from scratch) and condiments and spices are no exception! It's the best way to ensure that the ingredients are pure, organic, and fresh!
My favorite thing to do when it comes to finding organic herbs and spices is to head to my local health food store and buy from their bulk foods section. They often have organic herbs and spices to choose from at a tiny fraction of the cost to buy at the grocery store.
For example: A 1.97 oz bottle of pre-made organic pumpkin spice mix costs $5 + shipping. By buying in bulk at my local health food store, I can grab all the ingredients for this pumpkin pie spice recipe for less than $1.25!
Still all organic and for much less than buying it pre-made!
NOTE: You can also check your grocery store for a bulk spices section, though it will likely not be organic (which may not be a requirement for you).
What's In Pumpkin Pie Spice?
Pumpkin pie spice recipes are flexible, and some have certain ingredients that other versions don't. However, in general, they all include cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
Other recipes also include mace, allspice, cardamom, and even black pepper!
This pumpkin pie spice recipe keeps things simple and uses ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. It's super easy to make and lasts until it's gone!
You can use it in all your pumpkin recipes, and I even use it in apple pie, and peach cobbler!

This is great. How much would you use when making the pie filling?
Victoria says
Hi Brenda! Most recipes will have the measurements for PPS listed, but if you are just adding it to pumpkin puree and eggs, then I would do about 1-2 tbsp, based on your personal preference! Enjoy!
